Alternating lane closures are planned on the Interstate 40 Mississippi Relief Bridge just past Exit 281 in West Memphis from Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
The eastbound and westbound outside lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily as bridge crews perform a routine bridge inspection. At least two lanes of travel will remain open in each direction at all times.
Traffic will be controlled with the use of cones and signage. Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.
First responders have been busy this morning on I-40 westbound. Currently around mile marker 230, working a fatality accident with another entrapment.
Traffic is being diverted at exit 239 at this time. www.idrivearkansas.com is a great resource for traffic and road conditions when traveling through our state.
