Arkansas property taxes are due today, October 15.
Property owners can pay their taxes online, in person at the county courthouse, or by mail.
The amount of property tax owed is based on the assessed value of the property, which is determined by the county assessor.
Failure to pay property taxes in Arkansas can result in penalties and interest charges, and in extreme cases, the property may be subject to a tax sale to recover the unpaid taxes.
Officials remind residents that there are three payment options:
--Walk-in payments are accepted at your county collector’s office
--Mailed-in payments must have a postmark no later than Oct. 15
--Online payments can be made at portal.arkansas.gov
